KONGINI FLOWER
Lantana flower is common in south india . Kongini is the malayalam name for this flower. Some of the intresting varieties of Kongini are carols , gold mound , new red , radiation ,samantha , silver mound ,spreading sunset etc..The plant possesses certain medicinal properties also it repels insects and hence used in the preparation of organic insecticides for plant protection in agriculture. The leaves are used to relieve itching against flu , cold , cough , fever and jaundice. Kongini flower producing varying colours like red , purple , yellow , orange , cream and pink ,the flowers usually change in color as they age.
A plant with similar flowers, between a wall and house, is more than 2 meters tall and has many branches with a few leaves. Can it be used as a support for creepers like Ssatavari? Vinod Kumar, Thrissur
